So this has been a week of both good and bad....see my previous post for some of the bad. I also was just told today my Auntie Iola has passed away. My Auntie has been ill for quite some time. A heavy smoker in her younger years it took a toll on her body. Stomach ulcers, stroke, heart disease. She also had Diabetes which took her eyesight. The last decade at least she has been without sight. It has been a difficult existence and hard for my uncle who was her caregiver. But regardless of her illnesses I am still sad to hear the news she is no longer with us.
This is probably the one reason I don't like living here. We are so far away from our family. As people get older I know it is inevitable that they will pass and we can't be there all the time. I absolutely dread the day Will loses one of his parents. I already feel guilty for moving us out here.
Ok well on to the good. Our house purchase is coming along. We had a little bump in the road but things are moving along once again.
Second, I just got my employment letter for my "new" job....well same job new firm name. I got a nice raise so that is a good thing. They were hoping to have me come out to Regina for training but I am not sure that is going to work. So they may bring someone here. The other girls are being trained right now. But they do not need to know or use the program in the same way as I.
Now for my whine/vent....this is especially for Mrs. Spit. I am having issues with your bank. Urgh.....according to the law society we need to have copies of front and back of our cleared cheques....but the banks have new rules that they don't return cheques anymore. They send an image of the front with the statement. Anyhow this bank is having us use this cheque vision program to get the backs. Do you think I could get the darn thing to work....NO...It seems to me it should be a lot less complicated then is is to view some cheques off cd-rom.
So I called a rep at our branch. I spent half the day yesterday playing phone tag. I finally got to speak with Bob he gave me the number for customer care. I called explained my problem, girl puts me on hold comes back and tells me I need to call my branch. I told her the branch told me to call them! I get put on hold again. She comes back says I can't help you. SO this is when I start to get frustrated. This is YOUR program, how can NO one know how to use it? How can you not have a CONTACT of some sort with someone that knows how to use the program? She says they don't have this program to call the branch....My response...click....Called Bob back....I told him what happened. Asked if I came into the branch could you retrieve my cheques?.....nope we don't have that program. Well is there someone else that can help me? He says he will look into it and have someone call me.
So today I get a message (during lunch of course) from Ferdinand from the bank. I call back, get voicemail....no cheques yet.
