Healed

Today Brennan is 9 months old and I am 9 months past my rupture and c-section. According to the doctor this means I am healed. If we wanted to we could begin ttc#2. That is not our plan though. Right now it looks like we will be waiting till next summer at least and probably the fall before we go back to IUI cycles.

In a way I am excited to start ttc again. But I am also thinking more about the present and near future. Brennan's surgery is in 12 days, I need to make decisions about work in only a couple of months, and then we transition to both DH and I working and Brennan being cared for by my parents during the day.

I have a lump in my throat just thinking about it  I know he will be fine but the thought of only seeing him for a couple of hours a day really makes me sad.

It would be nice to be a sahm or even just work part time but that is not in the cards right now. I know that I need to go back full time for a while. Of course when/if we do have another baby I will be able to get full leave. Then maybe...just maybe...I will become a sahm for a while.

I have been trying to get information on pregnancy after rupture (PAR) there is so little available though. The only information I find really is that c-section should be planned prior to any labour. Since Brennan was born at 37w5d and my water broke at 37w4d we are likely looking at another 37-38 week baby. Brennan did well for his GA he was a good weight but he did have problems with blood sugar, jaundice and feeding. Hopefully with all I learned with him we won't have to repeat some of the "mistakes" that were made.

I guess I should mention my chunky monkey is doing very well. He had his 9 month appt the other day. He is 23lbs 9oz and 29 inches long. That puts him above the 75th percentile. It is pretty funny to compare him to other babies his age and even older as he is bigger. Everyone just says he is going to be big like his dad. I sure hope so. DH is over 6 3' and slim. Me on the other hand 5 3' and not so slim...lol. Oh still no teeth. The doctor said "looks like it will be a while yet." Oh well the toothless grin is priceless ;)
