We had our family Christmas diner last night. My dad mentioned the two "new" grandchildren welcomed (my brothers new step children) and one lost. He cried. My mom cried. I cried.
I am glad that even though his name wasn't spoken he still got a mention. That people know that he was my baby, that my life will always include him, and that I still hurt and miss him deeply.

That was lovely that your dad mentioned Gavin, even if he didn't say his name. It's good to know that you and your husband aren't the only ones missing your son right now.
