Tubes are patent!!

Well the title pretty much says it all. My HSG went very well this morning. I had to remind DR M to use the folly. It's not standard but it is much more comfortable than the catheter/tenaculum method. Do you know why they don't often use the folly?? Because it costs about $30. The other catheter is probably a few cents and the tenaculums are items that are reused. Using the folly would spare a lot of women the pain of the HSG.

So I saw with my own eyes the dye spilling from my tubes. I was/am so relieved.

I did however get some more information about my cervix. I am very concerned not only about the information but that I am getting conflicting information. Dr T said one thing and Dr M another.

When DR M put the spec in to place the folly he commented that my cervix (the external os) was short and that the left side was hardly there at all (my tear a Brennan's cesarean delivery just happened to be on the left also). This was probably part of why Dr C had such a hard time with my last HSG, not to mention the delivery tear he told me about at my SIS last month. Dr M then mentioned that it might be difficult to place a stitch (cerclage).

That information is quite concerning to me. Not only in the well being of a subsequent pregnancy but that it conflicts with the "you have a nice long cervix" I heard from Dr T at my postpartum exam.

This makes me even more scared about following the watch and wait plan :(
