IVF Egg Retrieval

Well today was the big day. The process proceeded fairly uneventfully. We got there, changed me into a gown dh got scrubs.  They took us back to the restricted area where I was given a warm blanket and some Ativan. The embryologist came by for a quick talk. Then I got my iv and shortly after we went into the surgical suite got all set up...then waited on the doctor. During the procedure I felt some pain the drugs made me loopy but not so bad. There was a tv screen so we could see what the embryologist saw through his microscope. We got 17 EGGS! We will know tomorrow how many fertilized. Feeling tired and sore right now.
