Jan 21

B and I met with his doctor and K today.  His/my appointment with the doctor took much longer than I was expecting.  First off b did not get his pill last night and was acting quite unusual.  Very touchy, wanting to be sitting on my lap, touching my hair.  Not stoping when I asked. It was a bit distressing.
Anyways we talked quite a bit about the pill and b's difficulty swallowing it.  We can get the meds done up into gummy form at a compounding pharmacy but apparently they taste awful so I don't see that going over very well.  We talked a bit about if the pill is working or not.  To be honest I don't see much change but K did mention later how it was very difficult to get him to regulate today and it made sense when I told her about the no pill thing.
The doctor and I also talked about getting b into the strategies program.  I am to contact the aides that worked with him both last year and this year.  Get their opinion on how is in comparison.  I will also have to verify with his teacher that he is able to focus in class.  I am very concerned that even with the aid assistance he is falling very behind.  With his potential (above average iq) he could be doing so much  better with the right help.
Towards the end of the appointment we sent B to start with K as he was being a bit annoying.
By the time I finished with Dr S, K didn't have much time but we went in together to talk.  We ended up briefly talking about b and his pill taking and then bringing him in to talk about it.  She suggested using a sweet treat of pop.  I am not a huge fan of this idea, normally b is allowed pop only when we eat out.  But I figured I might as well give it a try.  With a little coaxing he took his pill tonight. Maybe we'll be able to wean the Pop in favour of water.
Since it was a very b focused appointment this week I guess I get to wait another couple of weeks to see what she has to say about what we talked about on the ninth.
Once that was over I took b to lunch and dropped him at school.  I had a chance to talk with his g1 teacher and also the principal.
Then I was off to work for the afternoon.  Afterword I dropped my dad off picked up kids, stopped at the safe.way for the pharmacy and food and went home.  I was exhausted. Still am!
