Well Brennan saw Dr. Kiddo this morning for his consult regarding his Hypospadias. As I suspected Dr. Kiddoo is quite nice and friendly. That is why I requested her, I figured if she is married to Dr. Motan her patient care and personality might be a bit like his.Anyways she took a look at Brennan. At first glance she said his case was quite mild but it was hard to say exactly where the uretha was....then he peed on her and she was able to see exactly where the opening is. It was further down then she thought but still a mild case.
So we discussed the pro's and con's of surgery and that it was our choice. It will be mostly cosmetic as his case is mild and won't cause problems with fertility or his ability to pee. We had already decided to go ahead. I personally think that it would be better to have it repaired now as a baby then to wait. The surgery is much easier on babies and I just feel that as an adult he would appreciate that we made the decision to correct the abnormality.
I guess it is really one of the first BIG decisions we have had to make as parents. I guess there might be times when I wonder if we are doing the right thing but I am pretty confident. Ocassionally there can be problems with fistula's (basically a hole opens up) and that can require more procedures. Which might make someone regret fixing a mild case. Hopefully that won't happen. B is a pretty healthy kid.
I have spoken to Dr Kiddoo's receptionist and we now have a surgery date set for Aug 12.

I'm so glad.
On the subject of Dr. Motan, he was the ob who "delivered" Gabriel, and he was so terrible, I actually layed a formal complaint.
I'm glad you had a good experience with him. I'd never see him again. Ever.
Really? Based on one of your other comments I though it was Dr Mayo that had taken your case at RAH.
If it was Dr. Motan I am so sorry. That seems so out of character for him. I had an early loss during my treatments and he & staff were absolutely wonderful during that time.
